The WWE Survivor Series Premium Live Event was truly a night of memorable moments and solid matches – with the best thing saved for last, which was CM Punk’s shocking return. Now it appears that the event saw an impressive number of traditional buys as well.
The Survivor Series Premium Live Event took place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago Illinois, where CM Punk made his triumphant return after nearly a decade away from WWE. Prior to that, the show had quite a few solid matches, as both the Men’s and Women’s WarGames matches delivered on all fronts.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that Survivor Series had a solid number of second-week buys, noting that it has secured 11,200 buys. It was further added that the event is up 56% from last year’s final number for Survivor Series, which is an incredible achievement.
”Survivor Series did very good second week numbers and is up to 11,200 buys. After just 12 days, it’s up 56.0 percent from last year’s final number for Survivor Series. It’s down 33.7 percent from the final number for Crown Jewel. Of the buyers 9.8 percent also purchased Full Gear and 30.9 percent purchased Crown Jewel, meaning among the PPV buys 60.9 percent were different from people who purchased Crown Jewel on PPV.”
The WWE Survivor Series Premium Live Event will forever go down in history as one of the most significant events in the history of WWE for a multitude of reasons. We’ll have to wait and see whether WWE will be able to surpass even that with next year’s Survivor Series.
