AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT ran shows at the same time back on October 10th, as this was the first time they went head-to-head in over a year. Unsurprisingly, NXT defeated AEW Dynamite in terms of ratings by a very large margin and it was truly a decisive win for the company. Interestingly enough, NXT has the option of doing some things the same way Dynamite does as well.

AEW Dynamite has been going on for well over four years now and for the most part, they haven’t gone over the allotted time split. That said, AEW shows as lately have been going on long.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that WWE could definitely ask for fewer commercials, more picture-in-picture and overruns for NXT. However, all of this would need to be approved by the USA Network first, as opposed to AEW, who already can do all these without any issues.

”After what happened with AEW of late going long, someone in WWE noted to us that on USA, WWE can ask for less commercials, more picture-in-picture and overruns for NXT but USA has to approve everything in advance.”

AEW and NXT scored impressive ratings in TV domination during their head-to-head battle as well. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether NXT will end up going AEW Dynamite’s path soon enough.
