Ethan Page made a name for himself during his time in Impact Wrestling, where he was a multi-time tag team champion alongside Josh Alexander. Eventually, he made his way to AEW and remains a highlight of AEW television whenever he is given the opportunity. Now it appears he has no intention of wrestling till his 50s.
Upon arriving in AEW, Ethan Page had solid feuds with the likes of Darby Allin and other top stars. He remains a consistent part of the mid-card scene in AEW and ROH, but hasn’t touched championship gold in the company.
While speaking on the Insight podcast, Ethan Page was asked whether he wants to continue to wrestle well into his 50s and 60s like Adam Copeland and Sting. Page made it clear he has no intention of following in their footsteps.
“I don’t know if I want to be physically active in wrestling for that long. So I’m almost putting– I’m shortening my own career for sure. My son is young. He’s only two years old. My daughter’s turning six in February. So my kids are so young. I’m 34, I want to be able to enjoy the entire experience of being a parent.
“I feel it in my body every year, more and more and more… This obviously won’t last forever. Age is going to kick my ass eventually. I don’t want to be the guy who’s 55 or 60 years old who’s like ‘Oh, got to go to a show this weekend.’ I think I’d rather do whatever I want and if that’s wrestling, amazing.”
Ethan Page is set to square off against Kenny Omega on the December 9th episode of AEW Collision, in a match that fans are certain to enjoy. Regardless, it remains to be seen what’s next in store for Page in the coming months.
