Tully Blanchard made his entry into All Elite Wrestling back in 2019, taking on the role of managing Shawn Spears during his feud with Cody Rhodes. Subsequently, he continued to be associated with Spears and became part of The Pinnacle. He may no longer be part of AEW, but that doesn’t mean he won’t get asked about his time there. In fact, Blanchard revealed that no one in AEW asked him or Arn Anderson for advice.
Blanchard’s tenure with FTR extended until 2021 when, in a storyline twist, they “fired” him. This departure led to Blanchard forming Tully Blanchard Enterprises in Ring of Honor. In another storyline development, he “sold” the faction to Prince Nana, who then reformed The Embassy.
While speaking to Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Tully Blanchard was asked if anyone in AEW came to him for advice. Blanchard revealed that no one in AEW asked him or Arn Anderson for advice.
”Nobody. As far as I know, Arn or myself, nobody ever came to us.
“I don’t know that…my mind and the world that I came from in this business, I don’t know if there’s anything that I could offer. Because I don’t know how to do what they do. Because it is a, ‘Okay, I’m gonna do this, and the fans have to cheer for it or boo it, or be quiet.’ But the match never changes. Whereas if I did something and the fans didn’t react, I changed course right then. But I had that ability because my job was to make people scream. I don’t know that they really know how to do that [be spontaneous] anymore.”
In January 2022, Blanchard confirmed that he had departed from AEW, describing the situation as complex. However, he noted that his contract had expired. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for Blanchard in the world of professional wrestling.
