Mercedes Mone made a lot of money in WWE as Sasha Banks, but the company on her paychecks might change soon enough. As her deal with NJPW is seemingly coming to a close, her next destination is now apparently up for grabs once again.

Ringside News exclusively reported that there is currently no talk within the WWE creative team about bringing Mercedes Mone back to the company. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, as CM Punk just proved. That being said, AEW may also want her.

Danhausen is even willing to take a great sacrifice if Tony Khan will ink Mercedes Mone to a deal. Needless to say, there are some people who really want to see her in AEW.

Dave Meltzer spoke about Mercedes Mone during Wrestling Observer Radio, where he discussed AEW’s stance on signing Mone. It appears that there might not be as much assurance that she is a definite signing for Tony Khan.

“I always thought at the end of the day the reason she didn’t sign with AEW is because it would keep her from going back [to WWE]. I mean, obviously, Tony didn’t bring her to Wembley Stadium without the idea that she was going to sign, you know what I mean? So, he had to think it was close to a deal. What he thinks now?”

“I don’t know. It depends. If she has other aspirations outside of wrestling, you know the positive of AEW is that she can do them and Tony’s not gonna say no. With WWE, they’ll kinda want to be in control of that, but they’ll probably because, because of AEW, and it’s not Vince McMahon, they would probably be a lot more lenient with her than they would have been in the past.

Mercedes Mone could bring a lot of attention to AEW, and Tony Khan has plenty of money to spend. He can bankroll the pro wrestling company with his own money, but the idea is that someone like the former Sasha Banks will bring in a lot of eyes that may not have watched much of the product before. The trick after that is how Tony Khan would use her.

WWE is very different now with Triple H in control. CM Punk’s return to the company confirmed that, because it was Vince McMahon’s call several months ago to have Punk removed from backstage when he showed up to visit during a WWE show. Only time will tell if Vince McMahon’s exit from creative will entice Sasha Banks to return.

What’s your take on Mercedes Mone making a return to WWE? Should she sign with AEW? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
