Bryan Danielson entered AEW with a lot of momentum, but he has years of grinding experience in his rearview mirror already. That resulted in a few injuries along the way, and he is currently out of action with an unexpected affliction, one that may require a medical device once he returns to the ring.
Bryan Danielson experienced an orbital injury on October 25th during a match against Andrade El Idolo on the October 21st episode of AEW Collision. He is scheduled to make his in-ring comeback on the December 2nd episode of AEW Collision, where he will square off against Eddie Kingston as part of the AEW Continental Classic.
Leading up to his return, Bryan Danielson has been seen wearing an eye patch. During an interview on Maggie & Perloff, he was questioned about whether he intends to wrestle with the eye patch.
“I’m going to have to talk to the doctors. The benefit of wearing the eye patch is that, the bones are completely healed, but the benefit of wearing the eye patch is that, I still have a little bit of double division. If I take the eye patch off, I tend to get a little bit dizzy because of the motion of the eye. The eye patch stops me from getting dizzy. They may want me to wear a protective mask. We’ll see. It may end up being face mask with eye patch on top of the face mask.”
We will have to see what Bryan Danielson has to do. Tony Khan booked him in the Continental Classic tournament, and he certainly wants to wrestle for the company as much as possible during his last contract as a full-time talent.
Tony Khan is confident that Bryan Danielson will stick around for minimal appearances once his current deal is up. Only time will tell what the future holds, but Danielson is certainly not going to cut corners during this run.
