Actual Likelihood of CM Punk vs Steve Austin Dream Match In WWE

According to recent reports, there’s growing momentum behind the scenes suggesting a showdown between Steve Austin and CM Punk, a dream match that has ignited discussions within the Internet Wrestling Community.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the possibility of CM Punk vs Steve Austin. At this time, it doesn’t seem to be in the conversation yet.

“As soon as that story came out, I heard from a bunch of people who were pretty close in, and they basically said that ‘we probably shouldn’t be worried about them doing that one,’ because it basically, you know it’s not anything that anyone’s talked about to any degree.”

“I mean, it could happen, and it makes sense, but maybe you know.”

It was further noted that Steve Austin “has not been approached” about doing that match. At this point it is “premature,” but you can never say never. Right now, CM Punk has Seth Rollins in the pipeline, followed by Roman Reigns at a later time.

Ringside News exclusively reported a tenured member of the creative team told us this week that, “Paul LeVesque just got back from the West Coast so we’re just starting to talk about creative for Punk and everything else today.“

We’ll need to keep an eye out for any clues in CM Punk’s promos that hint at the Texas Rattlesnake. It seems like the match could be in the works, so fans might get to hear Stone Cold’s iconic entrance music once more, but it’s still very early in the process.
