Mercedes Mone is no stranger to capturing headlines, as she has kept most of her moves in the pro wrestling world very close to the vest. Now, as she awaits a return from injury, there are even more ideas churning in the rumor mill about her, including a possible WWE return.

Sasha Banks and Naomi defended their title on the May 13th episode of SmackDown, marking their last WWE appearance on television. Their match at a WWE Live event on May 15th turned out to be Banks’ final WWE match. On the May 16th episode of Raw, Banks and Naomi left WWE due to a creative disagreement with Vince McMahon. Neither of them looked back after that, and they both found new pro wrestling homes.

Naomi became Trinity, and she went to Impact Wrestling, where she is set to be a big face for TNA Wrestling. Mercedes Mone eventually showed up at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom, and she worked in Japan until she suffered an ankle injury that took her out of action.

Mercedes Mone showed up at AEW All In London, but she didn’t stand up. She was only spotted in the crowd, but she still had a walking boot on. As time has carried on, reports said Mercedes Mone’s injury is healing, but she hasn’t been seen anywhere else since, aside from meet & greet appearances. It was also reported that Tony Khan will likely bring Mercedes Mone into AEW, but they are waiting for the right time after her injury heals.

A new report came out this week saying that WWE is interested in bringing Mercedes Mone back. This popped up after Bayley dropped a throwback photo of Mone with other Damage CTRL members.

Ringside News reached out to inquire about WWE bringing Sasha Banks back to the company. A tenured member of the creative team confirmed to us that there are no creative plans to bring her back at this time.

CM Punk’s deal to make his return came together in the last ten days before Survivor Series. So, it’s not out of the question to picture WWE pulling off something like that in the future with other big names. At this time, there is no talk within the creative team of bringing Mercedes Mone into WWE for another run.

We will have to see how things pan out for Mercedes Mone at this time. She has a lot of potential in the pro wrestling business, but she was also waiting out her current injury. WWE may want to bring her back, but that doesn’t seem to be in the creative pipeline right now.
