WWE’s Survivor Series ended with CM Punk’s return to the company, and that was a huge deal in Chicago. Fans were shocked to see it all go down like that in the Allstate Arena, and now we have even more information about who was behind it.

Ringside News has complete coverage of the entire Survivor Series event. There are a ton of headlines for the show, but we have compiled them all in one place for you.

CM Punk had previously departed from AEW after the All In event due to a backstage altercation with Jack Perry. Strangely enough, Punk made his return to WWE before Jack Perry came back to AEW television.

Despite numerous reports suggesting WWE had no plans to bring Punk back and lacked interest in his return, the deal to bring him back came together swiftly, as revealed by Triple H during the post-event press conference. Top talent inquired about Punk’s involvement in Survivor Series earlier in the week, only to be informed that he wouldn’t be part of the event.

During a discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that WWE President Nick Khan made the decision to re-sign Punk, with the support of Triple H, while Vince McMahon did not have a say in the matter.

“He signed a multi-year deal. The deal came together about ten days ago. It was a secret from almost everyone. Paul Levesque [Triple H] said the TKO people found out by watching the TV, which I thought was ridiculous until I asked around and heard the exact same thing.”

We will have to see what happens next in this situation. CM Punk’s return to WWE could spark a lot of fan interest, but a ton of controversy could also follow him. This could also shed light on how much of those issues in AEW were really Punk’s fault, depending on how things go in WWE this time around.

We will have more on this ongoing story, and everything else going on in the pro wrestling world, right here at Ringside News. You never know what will break next, and WWE proved that in the closing moments of Survivor Series.
