CM Punk came back to WWE at Survivor Series, and that was a moment few actually thought would happen. There is a lot of history between Punk and WWE, and that goes especially for Triple H, the company’s current Chief Content Officer.
Triple H was very candid about the deal that brought CM Punk back to WWE. He said that things came together in a hurry, and that was a rapid process. In the end, Triple H found himself posting a pointing selfie with the Second City Savior after Survivor Series.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall to say that CM Punk and Triple H also had another conversation in addition to contract talks. They also spoke about mending fences between each other.
“While there was word elsewhere that CM Punk and Triple H’s talks all happened within the last week. At least as of the Sunday prior to Survivor Series, we’d heard of them having a conversation to “mend fences.”
CM Punk could be inserted into many situations within the WWE creative process. Wherever he lands, Punk will bring a ton of attention to the program. Only time will tell where Punk goes next, but he will be with WWE for years to come under Triple H’s creative direction.
We will keep our eye on CM Punk, and the rest of the pro wrestling world. CM Punk knows how to bring attention, and his surprise return at the tail-end of Survivor Series is only the start of things for his second run with WWE.
