CM Punk has not arrived in any pro wrestling company since AEW fired him. That won’t stop a plethora of rumors to come out about the Second City Savior.

Ringside News was able to exclusively reported that a tenured member of the team told us, “There is no interest in CM Punk. The damage he did to AEW was as bad as what Vince Russo did to WCW.“ Still, fans are seeing signs of CM Punk’s return to the company.

Sean Sapp addressed this situation behind Fightful’s paywall with a huge Q&A. One of those answers included a very interesting note. Apparently, Triple H has commented internally about how fans are seeing CM Punk teases that aren’t real.

I asked the same thing when I spoke to a higher up. My exact quote was “unrealistic expectations are set because of the references on WWE TV, whether there’s plausible deniability or not.” I was told that those talent are not clearing those lines. It is worth noting that the references on commentary completely stopped after WWE Fastlane. Nakamura did occasionally use the GTS.

Triple H had told some in the company that fans were finding things that weren’t there.

There were CM Punk chants heard during WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. CM Punk chants also popped up during Shinsuke Nakamura vs Akira Tozawa’s match on RAW. That being said, WWE realizes that fans are chanting for CM Punk. That doesn’t mean WWE is any closer to inking a new deal with CM Punk.

For the record, Ringside News also exclusively reported that WWE’s mindset about CM Punk’s return isn’t likely to change due to fans chanting for him at events. That won’t stop fans, likely in Chicago at Survivor Series, from chanting his name a few times.

We will have to see what happens in Chicago for Survivor Series. Some fans are expecting to see CM Punk, despite reports that there are no talks between the two sides. Only time will tell how Triple H books Survivor Series, but they will probably be very careful about any CM Punk teases.
