WWE Superstars often possess different talents, and Wade Barrett is a man who can flex his abilities in more ways than one. He recently proved this by breaking out a classic cover on his guitar for all to hear.
On Thanksgiving, Wade Barrett spent a bit of time to share his music with fans. He presented a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins’ 1979, a fan-favorite for many rock historians. It seems like Barrett has been practicing as well.
The WWE announcer dropped this video on X/Twitter, along with a caption. He is quite proud of himself, as he should be. This isn’t the easiest song to master, but it seems that Wade Barrett was able to take on the challenge.
Shakedown 1979. Cool kids never have the time.
Attempting my fave Smashing Pumpkin’s riff. Pure understated elegance (when they play it). I can still remember the exact moment I first heard it in the mid-90s. What a band.
The fact that Wade Barrett is doing a song that was written by Billy Corgan is interesting. After all, Corgan owns the NWA, but it’s really more of an interesting note and probably not worth reading into too much.
Wade Barrett hasn’t broken out a guitar on WWE television yet, but you never know what could be in the pipeline. In the future, we may just see more videos of him jamming out, which wouldn’t be the worst thing on anyone’s timeline.
