AEW currently has a few wrestlers who are unavailable due to various reasons, including a couple who have been sidelined for an extended period. However, there are signs that another star might be returning to action soon.
We previously noted that Marq Quen is nearing his return to the ring. There is even more information on another star’s situation.
According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, there is positive news for an AEW talent who has been absent for a year. Dante Martin, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury that kept him out of action, was recently seen backstage at an AEW event. The promotion is optimistic about his imminent return, marking a positive development for Martin after his extended absence.
Fightful Select has learned that Top Flight’s Dante Martin was backstage at a recent AEW show, and is nearing a return from injury. Martin suffered a gruesome injury at a March ROH PPV during a Canadian Destroyer to the outside of the ring through a table.
In July, Ian Riccaboni said on commentary that Dante Martin was ahead of schedule and was healing up. Dante’s brother Darius has been extremely active, especially on the ROH brand working both singles and teaming with Action Andretti.
It was noted that creative plans for Dante Martin are not known at this time. Hopefully, they can figure something out for him.
