MJF has been touted as one of the defining heels of the current generation of pro wrestlers and it is not hard to understand why. He had a Superman-like performance at AEW Full Gear, but he didn’t come off it unscathed as he got injured. Now his injury recovery timeframe has been revealed.
The Salt of the Earth and Jay White had the worst-rated main event in AEW pay-per-view history at Full Gear, as MJF defended his AEW World Championship against the Switchblade. Against all odds, MJF came out with the win. This is despite the fact that he was wrestling on just one leg.
As previously reported, MJF was legitimately injured after AEW Full Gear. It was noted that he suffered a dislocated hip and his shoulder was banged up as well. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that MJF is currently in a lot of pain due to his injury but is expected to make a full recovery in time for AEW Worlds End on December 30th.
“He’s dealing with a lot of pain (but) he’ll be ready for the pay-per-view, the December show in Nassau Coliseum.”
We will have to wait and see how the Salt of The Earth will be booked in the coming weeks, as he continues to progress in his path to recovery. Perhaps MJF might feud with Swerve Strickland after what transpired at AEW Full Gear.
