Ronda Rousey shocked the pro wrestling world when she made her in-ring debut for ROH. This went down after the double Collision and Rampage taping event, and so many fans are talking about it today. Tony Khan also had something to say about it.
After reports confirmed Ronda Rousey’s presence at the November 17th AEW taping, the former MMA champion made her first appearance under Tony Khan’s promotion during the subsequent ROH TV tapings.
During the taping, Ronda Rousey and Marina Shafir formed a tag team to take on Billy Starkz and ROH Women’s Champion Athena. This was a big moment that is expected to air on ROH TV next week. Rousey even came out to Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation as her entrance music.
Tony Khan shared his thoughts on Twitter about the live audience’s enthusiastic reaction, noting that their ‘holy sh*t’ chants were well-deserved. This indicates a significant moment in Rousey’s transition to her new wrestling journey.
Justified “Holy shit!” chants for @ringofhonor with ROH Women’s World Champion @AthenaPalmer_FG + her minion @BillieStarkz vs @MarinaShafir + her handpicked partner!
This is a big deal for ROH, but we have not heard anything about a contract signing yet. With AEW promising a giant free agent signing at Full Gear, those reports about Will Ospreay are certainly seeing a new name added to the mix.
Ronda Rousey can pick her own schedule at this point. She has made a ton of money, and she could decide at any time to just stay at home in Browsey Acres. That being said, The Baddest Woman on the Planet wanted to wrestle for ROH, and that is what happened.
