WWE has a few Superstars who are out of action, and fans miss them. That being said, Sheamus’ time away from the squared circle is coming to an end.
It was previously reported that Sheamus is out of action with a bad shoulder injury. The timing of his hiatus is notable, because his WWE contract is also reportedly running up next year. Now, we have an update on the Celtic Warrior’s return.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Sheamus is set to make his return to WWE programming on the November 24th episode of WWE SmackDown, which coincides with the show preceding the Survivor Series event scheduled for November 25.
With Sheamus’s imminent return, there is speculation about his potential involvement in the WarGames Match at Survivor Series, particularly aligning with Cody Rhodes-led babyfaces. Given Drew McIntyre’s recent heel turn, there have been suggestions that “The Scottish Warrior” might join The Judgment Day’s WarGames team in Chicago. In the event that the 4×4 match transitions into a 5×5 contest, Team Rhodes may require an additional member, and several names have circulated as possible fifth members, including the returning Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, and even CM Punk.
From a storyline perspective, Sheamus’s inclusion would be logical, given his history of friendship and rivalry with McIntyre. The two previously teamed up earlier this year for a three-way match against GUNTHER at WrestleMania 39. We will have to see what happens on the road to WrestleMania for Sheamus.
