The Undertaker is a WWE Hall of Famer, and he is known by many nicknames. The Phenom and Deadman is only scratching the surfaces, as many fans love his motorcycle riding American Badass character.
The Undertaker’s American Badass character in WWE marked a significant departure from his earlier persona. During this phase, he transformed into a biker-inspired persona, adopting a more real-world persona rather than the supernatural elements associated with his previous gimmick. He rode a motorcycle to the ring and showcased a more rebellious and outspoken demeanor, one that many have said is closer to the actual man behind the legendary persona.
While speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, the Undertaker was asked if he thought the Streak would have ended soon had the American Badass not come to life. He actually revealed that he believes his career would have ended a lot sooner if he didn’t make that change.
“I would have to think the percentages would be pretty high that the streak would have gotten broken sooner. I don’t know that for certain, but the percentages, and my understanding of our business, tells me that would have been a nice checkmark on somebody that was coming up. Little did we know that Steve’s career would be cut short. Little did we know that Rock was going to come off and become a big movie star. I would have gotten fed to one of them, and it would have been the right thing to do.”
WWE saw The Undertaker return to NXT for their big head-to-head show against AEW’s Title Tuesday Dynamite. That being said, he did return as the American Badass as he taught Bron Breakker a very valuable lesson about how he isn’t the biggest dog in the yard.
We will have to see when The Undertaker returns to WWE, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Thankfully, we’ll never know if Taker’s legendary career would have seen a much earlier end if he didn’t change over to the American Badass character.
