AEW has their eye on the entire pro wrestling world. Tony Khan is also not shy about laying down big money for contracts when he really wants to bring a talent in. AEW had their eye on Mariah May, and they made that deal happen. It was also a long time in the making.
Mariah May made her surprise AEW Dynamite debut during the November 8th episode of the show. This was a bit of a shock, because she just appeared randomly during a backstage segment with RJ City.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Mariah May has been in AEW’s crosshairs for a while. She actually signed her deal with them before she left Stardom.
Mariah May debuted on the 11/8 Dynamite. She did an interview with RJ City and acted like a fan girl for Toni Storm, saying she went to Stardom just like Storm. The deal was made before May left Stardom and when the rumors started flying around about it.
Mariah May could shake up the AEW Women’s Division at this point. They certainly need new talent to bring attention to the show. Mariah May is just getting started, so only time will tell what she will get to do in Tony Khan’s company.
AEW is a clean slate for Mariah May as she gets to introduce herself to a brand-new fan base. We will keep an eye on her progress, and everything else in AEW, right here at Ringside News.
