WWE’s family grew by one this week as Corey Graves and Carmella’s son finally arrived. This was quite a journey for them, and it ended with 60 hours of labor, but now they are proud parents. WWE also gave Corey Graves time off from SmackDown this week, but they have someone great to fill in for him.
While Corey Graves is at home with his new son, Dimitri Paul Polinsky, Kevin Owens will take over in his absence. This is likely just a one-week thing, but it should be a fun change.
WWE uploaded a video of Kevin Owens talking to Nick Aldis about filling in for Corey Graves tonight on SmackDown’s commentary team. Aldis said that sounded like a great idea, so it is official.
BREAKING: #SmackDown GM, @RealNickAldis, just approved @FightOwensFight’s request to fill in for @WWEGraves on commentary tonight!
Nick Aldis is doing a great job as SmackDown General Manager so far. He’s making some tough decisions, but putting Kevin Owens on commentary is certainly not a terrible decision.
It was also noted that, “BUT… if KO puts his hands on anyone, he will be SUSPENDED.” That little stipulation could be a game changer as well.
We will have to see how Kevin Owens does on commentary this week. He certainly has a lot of vocal skills and is very entertaining. This chance to take on the commentary role on SmackDown this week could open the door to more of that down the road.
