AEW has received some criticism in recent memory over their lack of storytelling. That being said, they appear to have things in place for Mariah May as they set the stage for her during that crucial debut appearance on the November 8th episode of AEW Dynamite.

Mariah May made her surprise AEW Dynamite debut during the November 8th episode of the show. This came as quite a surprise, as her appearance occurred unexpectedly during a backstage segment with RJ City.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Mariah May has been in AEW’s crosshairs for a while. At this point, it appears that AEW is going to pair her up with Toni Storm for some interesting angles coming up.

The story they are doing with May and Storm is based on “All About Eve,” which some figured out immediately. The Luther character is based on Max from Sunset Blvd., and Storm is based now just on Gloria Swanson but also Betty Davis. “All About Eve” is a 1950 movie that won six Academy Awards including Best Picture. It’s considered one of the greatest movies of all-time. The story is about a Broadway star who turns 40 and worried about her career (played by Davis and is essentially the Storm character) and Eve is this fan girl of Margo Channing (Davis’ character). Eve (May) becomes a big part of Channing’s life as fan girl who starts manipulating things until she basically becomes the new young star to push her out

Mariah May made a name for herself in Stardom, but now she gets to show fans what she’s like in an All Elite setting. Tony Khan’s company was able to pull her in, despite interest from elsewhere, and it’s anyone’s guess how things will go from here.

AEW could have a lot in store for Mariah May as she gets to introduce herself to a brand-new fan base. We will keep an eye on her progress, and everything else in AEW, right here at Ringside News.
