Nia Jax was a force to be reckoned with in WWE during her initial run with the company, but she was eventually released back in 2021. She would initially return during the Royal Rumble this year and now the person behind her return has been unveiled.
Nia Jax shockingly made her return as a surprise entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year. Entering as the 30th entrant, she amazed the crowd in attendance, but many fans also showered her with boos for good measure.
Several women had to work together in order to remove Nia Jax from the match, much to the relief of fans as they were worried Jax was going to win the whole thing. That said, Jax was also happy that people actually remembered her during the match.
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Tyson Kidd revealed that he was responsible for bringing back Nia Jax to the Royal Rumble this year. Kidd also added he had other plans for Jax during the match.
“I was really proud of the Women’s Royal Rumble this year. I loved it. I thought all the drama and the suspense at the end with Liv [Morgan], Rhea [Ripley], and Asuka was exactly what we were looking for, and the truth is I had a whole different finish planned using Nia, who I got okayed to come in as a surprise entrant. She wasn’t re-signed yet at that point.
I had a whole different finish involving her. And it got changed, maybe two days before, and um, everything in like, Oh, I’m not going to come up with anything better, you know, felt a little frustrated, not mad at anybody, that’s the game. Sometimes, your idea goes through, and sometimes there are little tweaks. And so what’s funny is we ended (…) I learned a very, very valuable lesson, and I’ve come up with a way better finish than the one I had mapped out.”
Nia Jax squared off against Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez, Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Championship at Crown Jewel on November 4th, but was unable to win the match. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for Nia Jax.
