CM Punk was fired from AEW after having a backstage confrontation with Jack Perry, one where Punk “sucker punched” Jungle Boy. Despite the heat he has in AEW, there was apparently none in WWE.
CM Punk’s advances toward WWE about a return were rejected. Ringside News has exclusively reported that there are no talks between the two sides. That won’t stop CM Punk chants from popping up during WWE events. That being said, some fans may still expect to see Punk again, even though it’s not very likely to happen.
During a discussion on Oh…You Didn’t Know, Road Dogg, who is Senior Vice President of WWE Live Events, brought up CM Punk in the conversation. This caused Road Dogg to reveal that nobody had any issues with CM Punk in WWE.
“Everybody loved CM Punk too. I never got it. Never understood it. Cuts a decent promo. Good, in today’s world. Never got the rest of it. Let’s lay it on. If we’re getting heat, let’s get it.”
CM Punk is doing his own thing at this point. Everything that he posts on Instagram gets attention, and that goes double when he makes any allusion to pro wrestling. He is a very hot free agent right now, but that doesn’t men he’s going back to WWE.
We will keep our eye on this story, and everything else in the pro wrestling world, right here at Ringside News. You never know what can happen next, especially when the Second City Savior is a part of the conversation.
