Young Rock delighted fans for three seasons, but it was eventually cancelled. The show also went head-to-head with WWE programming with a Friday night time slot for the last season of its run. That may have been a bad blow for the show, but hope is not lost for a return.

During an appearance on Developmentally Speaking, Harvey Wippleman, who is a close friend of The Rock, described his work as an executive consultant on the show. He also teased that the story isn’t over yet, as fans can stay tuned.

Harvey Wippleman, who had a lot to do with The Rock’s journey, especially early on, didn’t reveal much, but he also gave fans hope that they may see more of this re-telling of Dwayne Johnson’s life story.

“To me, the biggest highlight of the last whatever amount of years was being a main part of the ‘Young Rock’ show on NBC. I was one of the two executive consultants for the wrestling aspect of the show. I was part of the Memphis Wrestling consultant team, and also part of the Zoom meetings teaching Ryan Pinkston, who plays me on ‘Young Rock’, my accent and just showing him how I talk and behave and whatnot. Of course, a great friend of mine, Chavo Guerrero, was the casting director for the wrestlers in the show and also the physical consultant, shaking the actors how to take a bump or whatever. The young wrestlers that were portraying other people, he would explain to them what to do. So me and Chavo were two the two wrestling people on that particular show. It was a great experience, and it’s not over yet. It’s not on NBC anymore, but once the actors’ strike resolves, stay tuned. ‘Young Rock’ will be back. The story ain’t over yet.”

Young Rock told quite a story in three seasons, but there is always hope that it could return. Other shows have re-appeared on different networks in the past after getting cancelled. The idea of streaming services opens up even more possibilities.

The Rock’s story cut off just as he was breaking it into WWE, and there were teases for so much more. Hopefully, fans will see some resolution to this tale of Dwayne Johnson, because there is so much story left to tell.

What’s your take on Young Rock possibly coming back for another season? Do you want to see it come back? Let us know what you think about this in the comments section!
