WWE gives their Superstars a great opportunity to make fans and travel all over the world. Sami Zayn has certainly experienced a boom in his own career over the last twelve months, and he’s not stopping any time soon. At WWE Crown Jewel, he also broke into impressive territory for WWE.
In 2023, Sami Zayn has experienced a series of significant moments. He began the year as a member of The Bloodline, alongside Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, The Usos, Paul Heyman, and Solo Sikoa. However, his course altered when he turned on the group at the Royal Rumble to protect Kevin Owens from further harm. In February, he headlined the Elimination Chamber in his hometown of Montreal, but came up short in his quest to dethrone Reigns as SmackDown’s top champion.
At WrestleMania 39, Zayn and Owens secured a victory over The Usos, capturing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. Their reign endured for a considerable period before they dropped the titles in a Pittsburgh Steel City Street Fight at Payback to The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Finn Bálor.
Recent events have seen WWE dissolve the partnership of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn as a tag team when Owens relocated to SmackDown. Zayn is now returning to his status as a singles competitor while also forming an alliance with Jey Uso in a feud with The Judgment Day.
Sami Zayn achieved a victory over JD McDonagh on the pre-show of the Crown Jewel PLE held last Saturday. According to CageMach, that match marked Zayn’s 900th match with the company since his initial journey in NXT back in 2013.
This is a great benchmark for Sami Zayn as he wraps up 2023. Only time will tell what 2024 holds for the Underdog from the Underground, but he picked up a ton of fans over the last year who undoubtably can’t wait to see what he does next.
