Edge left WWE and that was a shock for a lot of fans. Now, Adam Copeland is one of the top stars in AEW, and he is looking to get as much time with the company as he can. After that big change, he is officially dropping that Edge name from his social media.
Adam Copeland made his official AEW debut at the conclusion of the WrestleDream pay-per-view event last month. Now, he is finally taking the last steps to totally wash that WWE moniker from him in a public way.
He returned to aid Sting and Darby Allin in repelling the attack from Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Luchasaurus, following Christian’s TNT Championship victory over Allin in the main event.
Having been associated with the name Edge throughout his 25-year career in WWE, this marks the first time Copeland is performing under a different moniker since his days as Sexton Hardcastle. Edge’s name is deeply linked to Copeland’s wrestling journey, which makes it surprising that he has now removed the name from his social media presence.
His Twitter handle has been updated to @RatedRCope, replacing his previous handle, @EdgeRatedR. That name is no longer in use, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if someone snatches it up the moment they can.
Copeland is scheduled to team up with Sting and Darby Allin to face Christian, Wayne, and Luchasaurus at Full Gear on November 18th. Before that match, Copeland will join forces with Darby and Sting to take on Lance Archer and the Righteous at this Friday’s Collision tapings.
We will have to see what the former Edge is able to do as a full-time AEW talent in the months to come. It was not revealed exactly how much time Adam Copeland has in AEW, but he is certainly making the most of things.
