The NWA recently established a television agreement with The CW network, although Billy Corgan has not yet confirmed this development. However, the relationship between the NWA and the CW appears to have encountered some difficulties following the NWA’s recent PPV event, Samhain.

During the event, there was a segment involving Father James Mitchell, who was depicted partying with a group of women and was insinuated to be using a white substance, hinted as cocaine.

House of Wrestling reports that this specific scene reportedly irked some higher-ups at the CW, leading them to advocate for NWA programming to be exclusively available on the CW app, rather than broadcast on television as initially planned. When the negotiations between the two parties were in progress, it was communicated to Corgan that the executives were solely interested in the television program and would not review the PPVs.

Following the controversial segment, numerous individuals expressed their concerns on social media platforms, catching the CW’s attention. A source indicated that there is a 90% likelihood that NWA programming will be confined to the CW app rather than traditional television.

Regarding the rumored reality show as part of the agreement, the CW did not financially contribute to it. Billy Corgan funded the show, serves as the executive producer, and retains full creative authority. The CW would benefit from the program by selling advertising spots, particularly once they learned that Corgan’s recent wedding would be included in the show. The inclusion of wrestling elements and the Powerrr deal were integrated with the understanding that the CW would have the opportunity to broadcast the wedding footage.

Billy Corgan has optimism that exposure on the network will translate into increased ticket sales and merchandise revenue for the NWA. Should the reality show prove successful, it could pave the way for additional funding for a potential second season.

We will have to see how this pans out in the months to come. The NWA is still going, and only time will tell how they snag their next headline.
