John Cena is currently on his longest WWE run in over six years, as fans simply can’t wait to see him on WWE television every week. That said, not everyone is happy to see him back on WWE television. Now Cena decided to address critics when it came to his comeback.

The ongoing SAG AFTRA strike has allowed John Cena to return for a lengthy run in WWE after so many years. That said, there are some who feel that Cena getting a major payday from wrestling appearances every week, while lower-tier actors who don’t earn as much continue to take part in the strike.

This criticism has been gaining some steam over the past couple of weeks as well. While speaking on the After The Bell podcast, John Cena decided to address critics when it came to his comeback, explaining how things were beyond his control and how he got written permission from the SAG to return to pro wrestling.

Well, that’s certainly a happening that’s beyond my control. So I’m fortunate enough to have a lot of things on the movie and television side lined up. None of which I can talk about. Because we’re in the middle of a labor dispute. Then the labor dispute happens and the Screen Actors Guild decides as a entirety to go on strike, which either leaves me idle or asking questions of ‘Well, what can I do? What is within my control?

I wanted to see if it was okay to come back to tour. So we called the proper people at SAG. We got written legal ok that it would be okay to come back to WWE. Once I had that, then I can ask the question of ‘Hey WWE, do you guys want me to come back and hang out for a little bit?’ So here we are.

No, I just think in the beginning of the strike, and it has been going on a long time. I do hope we can find a resolve soon that everybody’s happy with but in the beginning of the strike, I think everyone was trepidatious on what can you do and what can’t you do? I know along the path of the strike, there have also been some situations on ‘Well, we shouldn’t do this and we should do this.’ And I’m very grateful to have a home in WWE. I’m very grateful for the Screen Actors Guild to allow me to be part of it.”

John Cena will battle Sikoa at Crown Jewel on November 4th in Saudi Arabia. We will have to wait and see whether the Leader of Cenation will be able to win the match in the end.

What do you think of what John Cena said? Are you glad he is regularly appearing on WWE television again after so long? Sound off in the comments!
