Ric Flair’s legendary name is known for a lot of things, especially when it comes to taking insane bumps despite his age. He is now officially part of the AEW family and this made fans wonder whether he would actually wrestle. Flair has now revealed that he doubts he will ever wrestle in AEW.
Ric Flair finally got the chance to retire on his own terms last year. The Nature Boy teamed up with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo and faced Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett on July 31st, 2022.
After his final match, fans wondered if Flair would ever compete again. Flair made his debut in AEW last week and even went on to sign a multi-year deal with the company today. Naturally, fans are now wondering if he will finally compete again inside the squared circle.
While speaking to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Ric Flair talked about how his deal with AEW came together. The Nature Boy then revealed that he will never wrestle in the company is still able to take bumps whenever necessary.
“No, I don’t think I will. If you’re asking me if I want to? I have to be careful what I say because it never comes out (the right way). I just made it very clear to everybody that I can take bumps. I have a doctor’s release to do anything I want like that. Do I think I’ll wrestle again? No. Would I like to? Obviously. I’m never going to say no.”
Sting will be having his final match at AEW Revolution next year, where Ric Flair will be with him for the whole journey. We will have to wait and see how The Nature Boy will be used by AEW in the coming weeks.
