Baron Corbin, a seasoned WWE veteran, has seen his fair share of ups and downs during his decade-long journey in the wrestling world. His main roster run might not be all that great, but he is having a much better time in NXT. In fact, Corbin recently stated that he might just end his career in NXT.
Following the WWE Draft, Corbin’s free-agent status left fans speculating about his future. In a surprising twist, Corbin made a triumphant return to NXT in May, promptly targeting Carmelo Hayes. Although his initial encounter with Hayes ended in defeat, Corbin has solidified himself as a reliable force within the NXT roster.
While speaking on a recent episode of Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Baron Corbin talked about his life beyond pro wrestling. Corbin also stated that he wouldn’t mind ending his career in NXT.
‘‘I have a four-year-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old, and I’m going like, ‘I want them to see me wrestle and remember it too.’ Then I’m going, ‘Well, if it ends tomorrow…’ It’s an internal struggle for sure, because I love what I do,” Corbin said. “I love traveling. Even my wife is like, ‘Would you stay in NXT for the rest of your career?’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe,’ because I love traveling and performing in front of these different audiences and experiencing the different cultures and the different cities and countries and places throughout the world, from performing in Philly to Texas to Seattle to Toronto to Japan, to China to South America, to Mexico to Saudi Arabia. All of these countries I’ve been to and experienced the food and the city and the people and the appreciation for what we do. It’s going to be a very hard pill to swallow some day when that is gone, because that’s what you appreciate, is for me, those things.”
Baron Corbin also recently claimed that he has creative control in NXT. Regardless, Corbin is more than happy working in NXT and if he does end up finishing his career as part of WWE’s developmental brand – fans will simply accept that.
