AEW Full Gear 2023 will be a rare Saturday AEW pay-per-view for Tony Khan’s company. The event is set for November 18th and will take place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Although the California location could open the door for a big moment for Cali-residents, one big match is still undecided.
Tony Khan shocked fans when he booked FTR to drop the AEW Tag Team Titles to Big Bill and Ricky Starks. At this time, the new champions don’t have any confirmed challengers, but there are several ideas.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW is considering the Young Bucks for a tag team title match against Big Bill and Ricky Starks. That being said, despite winning a #1 contender match, the Young Bucks’ spot is not 100% solid. At this point, they are discussing a few options for that match.
“The last I heard is that they may do Ricky Starks and Big Bill against the Young Bucks at Full Gear, but that’s not official. It was just one of many different things that was thrown out there. We’ll have to see how this all turns out.”
It was also noted that, “The Bucks won a #1 contender match, and it hasn’t been talked about since.” We will have to see when AEW gets around to booking this match, but they haven’t shown any momentum in that direction yet.
FTR’s AEW World Tag Team Title loss was a bit of a shock, and many expected that Dax Harwood would have lost to Ricky Starks to set up a rematch for the titles. That didn’t happen, and now it appears that there are many creative ideas out there about which direction they can go at this point.
