The Undertaker, a long-time fan of MMA and a WWE legend, recently shared his thoughts on WWE’s merger with UFC under Endeavor during an interview with “MMAJunkie.” The “Deadman” was interviewed alongside Vince McMahon and expressed his excitement about the merger and its potential for global growth.
In a light-hearted moment, The Undertaker joked about McMahon charging him for UFC and WWE event tickets. He then emphasized his enthusiasm for the merger, citing his 33-year involvement with WWE and his long-standing passion for UFC.
“I’m going to get a lot of good tickets to UFC and WWE events [laughs]… You know he charges me?” he joked of McMahon before saying, “No I’m just kidding. But no it’s going to be a lot of fun obviously. You know, I’ve been involved with WWE for 33 years and been a big fan of the UFC for a long time so I’m really excited about the merger and the potential for growth worldwide.”
The Undertaker has previously discussed his interest in potentially joining the UFC, noting that it was something he considered. However, he acknowledged that he lacked an amateur wrestling background, which might have been a prerequisite for making such a transition. He famously confronted Brock Lesnar at UFC 121, but the idea of a UFC bout between them was not realized.
The merger between WWE and UFC has already shown potential benefits for UFC, as they reportedly secured a deal with the Saudi Arabian General Sports Authority, with assistance from WWE’s Vince McMahon. McMahon recently referred to Saudi Arabia as WWE’s “home” for the time being, highlighting the significance of WWE’s global presence.
