The New Day is regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in the history of WWE, and it’s not really hard to see why. They have been part of numerous historical matches and won tag team titles several times. That being said, Big Show advised Kofi Kingston to leave the group and maximize his career.

When the New Day made their debut as a group, they were initially heels but were eventually turned into babyfaces due to their rise in popularity. Prior to that, none of the members had a solid run in WWE.

While speaking with UnDrafted AllStarz Podcast Show, Big E talked about how The New Day was made. Big E revealed that many doubted the group would ever find success in WWE, adding that Big Show even advised Kofi Kingston to leave the group and maximize his career in WWE.

We had like Big Show pulling Kofi aside, ‘What are you doing with those two? You’re wasting your career.’ He came back later and apologized because sometimes people don’t see the vision. They don’t see what you see.”

Vince McMahon even pitched to break up The New Day multiple times. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods continue to carry on as The New Day, with their sights set on the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. We’ll have to wait and see when they will get a shot at the titles in the future.
