WWE Star Tamina’s Extended Absence and Contract Status

Tamina has been notably absent from in-ring competition for nearly a year, a rare occurrence in WWE, especially when injury isn’t the reason behind the absence. Instead, it appears that the lack of creative direction has contributed to her extended time away from the ring.

The last time Tamina had a substantial in-ring role was in early December of the previous year. Since then, she has only participated in a couple of WWE Main Event matches and made an appearance in the Royal Rumble. Her sporadic presence in WWE programming has left fans wondering about her status and future in the company.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select weighed in on her status during a recent Q&A.

“She is still under contract, even though she has not been used in quite a long time. I’ve heard she had been backstage here and there. She was backstage when [CM] Punk showed up there and that was April 24th, but she has not wrestled since. I think it was February 27th, and she was just used on a couple of episodes of Main Event. She was used in the Royal Rumble, and she hadn’t been around for months before that. Tamina has not been wrestling regularly since the beginning of December of last year, so we’re going on almost a full year. She’s had the Rumble and two main event matches that she lost since then.”

Tamina’s situation reflects the complexity of WWE’s talent roster, where various factors, including creative direction, storyline opportunities, and overall roster depth, determine which wrestlers are actively featured on television and at live events.

As WWE continues to evolve and adapt its programming, the fate of talents like Tamina may change based on the company’s creative direction and plans.
