Will Ospreay is set to be a free agent in 2024, but odds are he won’t be without a contract for very long. There is some huge interest in him, and the possibilities are certainly diverse in the pro wrestling landscape for someone with his kind of talent.
Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE is preparing to offer a deal to Will Ospreay, but it’s still early. After all, his NJPW contract doesn’t expire until February. AEW is obviously interested in him as well, but WWE may have an interesting option for the Aerial Assassin.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Will Ospreay’s big decision that he has coming up. WWE is interested, but the way they want to use him could be interesting. Of course, everything changes if Will Ospreay is willing to move to the United States.
“One idea that was thrown out to me was NXT Europe built around Will Ospreay. Now, how much money they’re going to spend on that, and you know the revival of NXT Europe starts, you know that thing of obviously what happened with the original NXT UK and its effect on the independent scene in the UK, but at the same time they didn’t run live events, they just did TV tapings. So, you just don’t know. They’ve got the go-ahead from Endeavor to do it, so you don’t know that that entails.”
It was also noted by Dave Meltzer that, “So, it’s he’s willing to move [to the United States], yeah I think it increases his value to both WWE and AEW if he’s willing to move here.”
Will Ospreay obviously has a big decision ahead of him. WWE and AEW may also both be in the running to acquire his services. Only time will tell what he chooses to do, but Ospreay’s 2024 could be a banner year for him.
The pro wrestling world is always shifting, and that is especially true when big-time contracts are in play. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more on this story, and everything else going on in the pro wrestling world.
