Will Ospreay’s stock continues to rise with every passing week, as we near his contract expiration next year. Quite a few pro wrestling companies are already interested in signing him and that includes WWE – who is gunning hard to sign him ahead of a potential bidding war.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion had a chance to sign with WWE back in 2016 but opted not to as a way to show his deep appreciation for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
With his NJPW contract set to expire in February next year, fans wonder which company he will end up signing with next. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE is absolutely after him and is interested in signing him to a contract.
“I know WWE is absolutely after him and he is absolutely going to listen to WWE. WWE is very, very interested in him. Of course, everyone is, and they should be.”
Even Will Ospreay recently made it clear that he considers a transition to WWE as a possibility. He even retained a heavy-hitter agent for contract negotiations next year. Only time will tell whether Ospreay will end up making his way to WWE next year, as he would likely find a lot of success there.
