Impact Wrestling concluded their Bound For Glory event with a big announcement. They will be going back to TNA Wrestling, and Hard To Kill will mark the beginning of that transition. Now we have a bit more information on the situation.

Ringside News has complete play-by-play coverage of Impact Wrestling’s Bound for Glory event. It was full of newsworthy moments, like Jordynne Grace making history, but the shot closed out with a histotic moment as well.

According to PW Insider, when 2024 arrives, Impact Wrestling will undergo a name change. As of January, they will revert to their original name, Total Nonstop Action.

It was reported that this is a well-thought-out move that was initially planned to be revealed at Slammiversary, but was rescheduled for Bound for Glory. The final decision to switch back to TNA was made about 2 to 3 weeks ago.

Multiple factors contributed to this decision. First, it would help unify the fragmented history of the promotion, which had gone by TNA, then Global Force Wrestling, and finally Impact Wrestling at different times. Additionally, several international partners of the company preferred the TNA name and had continued to use it internally. Furthermore, the company conducted a quiet poll of its long-term fans earlier this year, and many of them expressed a preference for the TNA name.

A few years ago, there was nostalgia for TNA when the company brought back the TNA title with Moose as the titleholder. The original plan was to revive TNA as a separate TV series and possibly a promotion out of a TNA reunion PPV. However, these plans were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic and were eventually dropped. Instead of two different promotions and TV series, TNA has now become the name of the company.

The plan is for Impact to continue until the end of the year and then transition to the TNA name in January, with the Hard to Kill pay-per-view in Las Vegas serving as the first official TNA show. The UK tour will still use the Impact Wrestling name.

The company intends to maintain current storylines, talent, and style but use the TNA name going forward in 2024. The plan is to build on the improvements made by Anthem since taking over from Dixie Carter several years ago, continuing as TNA Impact Wrestling.

TNA Wrestling will host Hard To Kill will go down on January 13th, live on pay-per-view. This appears to mark the return of TNA Wrestling for good. Scott D’Amore was there, and he said, “we’re back!” and he meant it.
