WWE went through a huge transition in the corporate world as they merged with UFC to create a new publicly traded company. That brought Triple H’s creative vision to the forefront, and many people are all for this change.
Eric Bischoff has added his voice to the growing number of wrestling enthusiasts and analysts who favor Triple H taking the reins of WWE’s creative aspects. He obviously heard reports about the transition of power backstage in WWE.
During his Strictly Business podcast, Eric Bischoff provided insights into his support for the reported decision by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel to lessen Vince McMahon’s direct involvement in WWE’s daily creative production responsibilities.
Eric Bischoff believes Triple H having the final word on WWE’s creative process is “the healthiest decision possible” not just for the talents and production staff, but for the product itself. In the end, he applauds the call to put the creative book in Triple H’s hands.
“I applaud the decision. Just because I applaud the decision, it doesn’t mean anything less than a tremendous amount of respect for what Vince McMahon has accomplished over the past 40 years.”
While Triple H assumed the role of WWE’s Chief Content Officer in September of the previous year, his leadership faced some trials when Vince McMahon seemingly reasserted himself into WWE’s creative processes at the beginning of 2023. Reports suggested that McMahon started tearing up scripts once again, leading to the cancellation of numerous advertised matches and segments
Following the WWE-UFC merger, Triple H is rumored to have been “knighted” by Endeavor, as they put everything in his hands, and Vince McMahon is not making those calls anymore.
It appears that Eric Bischoff’s stance is in alignment with those who have faith in Triple H’s ability to guide WWE’s creative direction, and many WWE Superstars are also loyal to Triple H over Vince McMahon. Only time will tell how the situation unfolds and whether Vince McMahon’s role in WWE changes. At this point, they seem to be making the right decisions.
