Pro wrestling fans love lists that rank wrestlers, because nothing entertains them like a good debate. We just saw the PWI 250, listing the top 250 women’s wrestlers on the planet, which Rhea Ripley got #1, because Mami always comes out on top. Now, we have a new list to look through, and Ricky Starks is all about it.

The BW500 just dropped, listing the top 500 Black wrestlers on the planet. This list was presented by Righteous Reg himself, and it was quite comprehensive.

The top honor went to Bryan Keith, and then Athena, Swerve Strickland, and Willow Nightingale earned the #4 spot. That was followed by “Absolute” Ricky Starks in the fifth slot.

Ricky Starks commented on this placement, and he’s all about the list. He also made a quip about how lists like this are a yearly reminder to fans that he is Black.

“Love lists like these! Also the annual surprise that people find out I’m actually black.”

Ricky Starks is set to be a big deal in AEW, as he claws his way up the roster. Only time will tell if he ever gets to the main event scene, but his name is also one that often comes up in discussions of AEW stars that WWE would love to have eventually. The fact that Cody Rhodes is in WWE now might be a huge drawing factor as well.

We will have to see what is next for Ricky Starks, but his consistent performances and compelling promos are certainly getting him a lot of attention. Odds are he will continue showing up on best-of lists for a long time to come.
