RVD has been all around the pro wrestling world, and he found himself in AEW. He’s appeared for the company occasionally, but things seem pretty casual at the moment.
Rob Van Dam has been brought into AEW for some featured appearances, because it’s always good to see the Whole F’n Show around. He will also wrestle for AEW once again as they take Dynamite to Philly.
During his Q&A behind Fightful’s paywall, Sean Sapp was asked about RVD’s current deal with AEW. He stated that RVD has not inked a full-time contract, so right now he’s just on a per appearance agreement.
“Rob Van Dam is back in action next Wednesday in Philadelphia for AEW, but he’s just on a per-appearance basis, he hasn’t signed an actual contract.”
WWE may also have interest in RVD, because he was certainly proved that he can still go in the ring. Only time will tell what the WWE Hall of Famer does next, because there is no official deal in place.
We will have to see if RVD and AEW ever make anything official. At this point, it seems that he is having a lot of fun, and doing his own thing. If AEW pays him enough to make the trip to wrestle on television, then they may keep this arrangement going.
