WWE offers their stars and employees opportunities, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Despite Eric Young’s last run resulting in him leaving before he ever returned to television, he still keeps in touch with Triple H.

Eric Young was among those re-signed by Triple H to the company in late 2022, following Vince McMahon’s initial retirement from WWE. Nevertheless, Young did not make a return to WWE television, as Bray Wyatt’s unexpected absence led to the abandonment of plans involving him as part of a ‘new Wyatt Family.’

After Endeavor’s acquisition of WWE and Vince McMahon’s subsequent return, Eric Young requested his release, citing his reluctance to work with McMahon. Following the Endeavor takeover, McMahon’s role in WWE creative was restricted, with Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel taking the lead.

Young maintained a positive relationship with Triple H, mentioning in an interview with Haus of Wrestling that they are still in touch, having spoken just “a couple of days ago.” It seems that they are still friendly.

“I still have a very good relationship with Hunter; I was just talking to him a couple of days ago. I loved it. The truth is, I never wanted to leave NXT. I knew that the main roster was the destination, and that’s where you made money, and that was kind of the end goal for most people. But the truth was deep in my heart I never wanted to leave in the first place. So yeah, I absolutely loved NXT. The main roster was not the same experience. It was a very poor experience, probably my least favorite out of my 30-plus years in wrestling.”

Eric Young was in Triple H’s plan for his backstage, but that didn’t work out. Now, Eric Young is onto his next venture, but it seems that he still keeps very important ties with people who matter in WWE.

We will have to see if Eric Young ever makes a return to WWE. His last run didn’t result in anything, but at least he raked up a few nice experiences along the way.
