MJF considers himself a generational talent, and he clearly has many ways to back up his claims as his stock continues to rise every week. That said, he doesn’t have a good relationship with everyone and now a former AEW star has disclosed a disparaging remark made by MJF.
Fuego Del Sol was one of the highlights of AEW Dynamite at one point. He was also out of action due to foot injury and underwent surgery for the same back in March. It was then revealed that he had parted ways with AEW after his contract expired on July 1st.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Fuego Del Sol talked about working with his peers in AEW and that included MJF. Del Sol admitted he didn’t wait like MJF and disclosed that MJF made a disparaging remark about him that Fuego Del Sol remembers.
“This is not going to be good. People aren’t going to like me for this but if I’m honest, I’m not a fan of this guy, to be real. I’m just not [shows image to the camera] We’re talking about the current AEW World Champion MJF. When I say I’m not a fan, I should reiterate that I try to never let my personal opinion get in the way of someone’s actual talent. He’s talented as all hell. Incredible promo guy. When he does decide to wrestle, he puts on incredible matches.”
“However, early on in AEW, way before I even got signed, he gave me one disparaging remark in front of a lot of people backstage. But it was off-handed, I’m sure he doesn’t even remember it. I do though. Some people are going to go out of their way to critique you, or congratulate you, or help you out. He kind of stuck to himself in that regard. Never really talked to me [outside of his disparaging remark.] And so, I don’t think we’re each other’s cup of tea.”
“However, that doesn’t change the fact that he’s insanely talented and I will never, ever, ever, ever, let my personal opinions of someone get in the way of how good they are. He’s great.”
Fuego Del Sol had some memorable moments during his AEW career, but his time has now come to an end. We will have to wait and see what the future holds for Fuego Del Sol.
