Chris Jericho is proud to be working in AEW and isn’t afraid to show it. Being a veteran in the business, he doesn’t really have much care about what his haters have to say. He is aware of how decisively NXT beat AEW Dynamite last week but now he has warned WWE to not get too full of themselves after the win.
AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT ran shows at the same time last week as this was the first time they went head-to-head in over a year. Unsurprisingly, NXT defeated AEW Dynamite in terms of ratings by a very large margin and it was truly a decisive win for the company.
While speaking to The Messenger, Chris Jericho talked about NXT defeating AEW Dynamite last week by a huge margin. Jericho warned WWE that they shouldn’t get too confident after NXT beat Dynamite.
“This would be like a football game where you bring in all of your top stars from years prior and beat the other team 30-26,” he argued. “It’s like a video game. Let’s bring in Tom Brady from five years ago and then play him for one game against Chris Jericho. OK, you guys won, but you only won 30-26.
So, don’t get too far up your own ass because you didn’t do that good of a job as far as crushing us. And our show was better than theirs, quite frankly. So, it doesn’t bother me.”
AEW and NXT scored impressive ratings in TV domination last week. We will have to wait and see whether AEW Dynamite will improve their product enough to defeat NXT next time they go head-to-head.
