The Tuesday Night War last week between NXT and AEW Dynamite was truly a sight to behold, as fans all over the world chose their own sides and remained defiant in their choice. NXT brought in big names to utterly decimate AEW Dynamite last week and that’s exactly what happened. However, Chris Jericho even told Tony Khan to bring in Snoop Dogg and other celebrities to counteract NXT’s offense.

Last week’s episode of NXT featured the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker, Cody Rhodes and many other big names as a way to ensure that NXT would defeat AEW Dynamite no matter what.

Many people believed NXT went overboard in bringing such names just to beat AEW Dynamite. While speaking to The Messenger, Chris Jericho addressed WWE using John Cena and The Undertaker on NXT, noting that he didn’t even really worry about it. Jericho further added that he told Tony Khan to bring in Snoop Dogg and other celebrities to counteract what NXT was doing.

You know, you can only bring in Cena and Undertaker and Cody and everybody else so much because nobody wants to work on their secondary show all the time. And it was a fun little, ‘Hey, F-you AEW.’ I didn’t even really worry about it.

It was just an opportunity to stick it to us with stunt casting. I told Tony, ‘Well, if you want to fire back, bring in Shaq and Snoop Dogg and those types of guys, Mike Tyson.’ But Tony didn’t do that. We relied on our show and our guys and our girls, and that’s the way it’s always been for us.”

AEW President Tony Khan then threw shade at The Undertaker and John Cena for failing to pull enough viewers for NXT. Regardless, fans wonder if WWE will end up pulling the same stunt the next time NXT and AEW go head-to-head, as it is certainly a possibility.
