Adam Copeland made his debut at AEW WrestleDream and he instantly became a massive deal in the company. It has been a few weeks since then and fans have gotten used to his star power in AEW. That said, Copeland has disclosed his creative freedom in the company.
Adam Copeland has been engaged in a storyline with Christian Cage immediately after debuting in the company and he has displayed a more raw and intricate side to him that fans haven’t seen much of in WWE.
While speaking on the Battleground Podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer talked about how the creative process is in AEW compared to WWE. Copeland revealed that he is heavily involved in the creative aspect of AEW, adding that it is done on a week-to-week basis.
“Every process has its pros and cons, right? It’s great to be involved to a heavy extent creatively. I’ve been lucky throughout the years, and producing, you are given some creative freedom. That’s always great, because as a performer, you have to be able to bite into what you’re trying to produce out there. I’ve always said, if there is some element of truth that the person behind the character can bite into, then the fiction should follow that truth, and that doesn’t change.’
“That’s always treated the same, but it’s nice to sit down and go, ‘Ok, how could this story play out, and being heavily, heavily involved in that,’ being involved on a week to week basis, that becomes more possible. It’s not, popping in every few months, that becomes hard, that becomes a hard process, to be involved in a large creative way when it’s just popping in and out like that.”
Adam Copeland further intensified his feud with Christian Cage on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. We will have to wait and see whether the Rated R Superstar will end up challenging for the TNT Championship soon enough.
