Hulk Hogan’s biopic may be off now, but Netflix is still doing their documentary about Vince McMahon. Now that they have taken a bit more time, they have a lot more to cover in the final edit.
Vince McMahon is used to having the final say in stories. He controlled WWE’s creative direction under his thumb for decades, and nobody could really question him on that. Now, that is not the case as Triple H is spearheading the company’s creative vision.
Vince McMahon will not have final editing authority over the upcoming Netflix documentary that will dive into his life. The documentary is being developed by The Ringer for the streaming service.
Bill Simmons said during the Bloomberg Screentime conference that Vince McMahon won’t be able to change things for the documentary. Simmons also expressed his belief that this project could become the most exceptional one in his career.
“I really think it has the chance to be the best one I’ve been involved with. I’ll be interested to see what people think about that one. It was a lot of time, and it was one where Netflix still has final cut of it, and it was a little more old-school in the 30 for 30 model. I think it has a chance to be really special.”
We are patiently awaiting the new Netflix documentary about Vince McMahon. Netflix usually puts out quality projects, and they seldom leave stones unturned. The famous streaming platform is also known for taking a narrative and running with it, so only time will tell how the portrait of Vince McMahon’s life is painted in the end.
