Ted DiBiase Jr. never lived up to his father’s fame as a professional wrestler during his time in WWE. However, he will now be remembered as someone who ended up embezzling millions of dollars in a massive scam. The Judge has now set a new trial date which will be next year.
Ted DiBiase Jr. is involved in Mississippi’s largest welfare embezzlement scam in the state’s history and is facing numerous serious charges. The son of The Million Dollar Man pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States.
Brett DiBiase previously pled guilty to two charges in Hinds County Circuit Court. He was also charged with six counts of wire fraud and four counts of money laundering. The former WWE Superstar is currently facing up to five years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000 in addition to his sentence in state court. If convicted on all counts, DiBiase could face a maximum of 45 years imprisonment and a million-dollar fine.
According to PWInsider, after yesterday’s hearing, Ted DiBiase Jr. is now scheduled to stand trial on 16th July, 2024 with a pre-trial conference set for 21st June, 2024. It was further added that the Judge ruled that Jury Instructions, Witness List, and the exhibit list are all to be due by 12th July, 2024.
Ted DiBiase has already commented on his son’s arrest. Only time will tell how the case will be handled next year, but it certainly does not look good for Ted DiBiase Jr. right now.
