AEW announced that The Icon, Sting, will address fans on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite in Houston, TX. The company didn’t specify the topic, leading to speculation about retirement. Now a lot of fans are commenting on the possibility of The Stinger wrapping up his career.

Sting’s last AEW match was on September 20th this year, when he teamed with Darby Allin against Christian Cage and Luchasaurus. Before that, he and Darby Allin defeated Cage and Swerve Strickland in a Coffin Match at AEW All In in front of a record crowd of over 80,000 at Wembley Stadium.

Fans are hitting X with posts about Sting retiring. Some are expecting him to wrap things up at Full Gear. Others have longer messages to share like, “If they were going to do that and knowing TK’s big old ‘major announcement’ approach you’d think they’d promote it as such. Him suggesting he’s going to retire and the promotion is ‘Sting addresses his fans’ would feel like under promoting to say the least.”

Sting also intervened to rescue Darby Allin and Adam Copeland from an attack by Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne after Cage retained the TNT Championship in a match against Allin at AEW WrestleDream.

Sting previously spoke about his possible retirement during the media scrum after Forbidden Door. He doesn’t have a date in mind, and that retirement obviously didn’t happen at All In London at Wembley Stadium

“I have not decided on a date,” Sting said. “For sure, a lot of people have wondered if I will retire in Wembley, that would be very cool, but I don’t see that happening. I think I’m going to continue on.”

We will have to see if Sting announces his retirement any time soon. He certainly has something that he wants to say on the next episode of AEW Dynamite, and Tony Khan will give him the stage to make at that announcement on TBS this week.
