AEW WrestleDream will go down in AEW history as a significant event in the promotion’s history as it featured the debut of Adam Copeland. Copeland has already become a main focus on AEW television and got a ton of support from WWE Superstars as well. That said, Rey Mysterio found out about Copeland’s WWE exit on social media.
The Rated R Superstar has been a central focus on AEW television since his debut, as he appeared on both Dynamite and Collision over the past couple of weeks, making fans excited for what he will do next.
The former Edge has worked with several top WWE Supertars over the years and that includes Rey Mysterio. While speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, Rey Mysterio revealed that he didn’t see Copeland’s WWE departure coming and only saw it on social media.
”I was shocked ’cause we had just spoken a week before that…We never had the time to even talk about what was next. I saw him in his last match and, yeah, we’ll be in touch ’cause we call each other every now and then.”
“And next thing you know, I didn’t even see, it was on social media the following day and they were like, “Did you see who popped up?” I was like, “No, what happened?” And they showed me, I was like, “Wow, I did not see that coming.” But I imagine he has his reasons on why and I can’t wait to sit down and chop it up with him.”
The Rated R Superstar is currently engaged in a feud with Christian Cage on AEW television. We will have to wait and see how the company will book their feud in the coming weeks.
