Chris Hero is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, who became a major star by competing in the independent circuit as well as bigger pro wrestling promotions. The current AEW star hasn’t wrestled in a long time and now he announced his return to the squared circle for the first time in three years.

Chris Hero had two stints in WWE before getting released by the company in April 2020 as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts. Chris Hero was also part of AEW Collision’s debut, where he produced quite a few matches for the show and is now a producer for the company.

During last night’s West Coast Pro Wrestling event, Timothy Thatcher faced JT Thorne. After the match, Thatcher attacked Thorne until Chris Hero made the save. Thatcher tried to attack Hero before Hero got the better of the exchange.

Chris Hero then told Thatcher that if he wanted to take advantage of someone, he would give him something to take advantage of. Hero asked Thatcher if he had any plans for November 17, the date of West Coast Pro’s Whiplash event. Thus, he confirmed his in-ring return for the first time in over three years.

Chris Hero’s last match took place during an NXT UK battle royale in March 2020, with his singles match being against Kenny Williams at an NXT UK taping earlier that same month. Tony Khan has also said that he is “chipping away” at getting a match from Hero. We’ll have to see how Hero will fare in his first match in over three years.
