WWE has a lot of things going on, as they embark into a new chapter of the company’s history. It appears that they will do that without Vince McMahon in his usual position of influence.

Brandon Thurston posted some notes on X about Ari Emanuel’s comments on Vince McMahon during the recent Bloomberg conference.

Ari Emanuel, speaking on Wednesday at the Bloomberg conference, gives three reasons why TKO stock is down. 1. The new Raw deal coming in at a 1.4x increase from the current deal.

Contrary Ari’s comments here, the market had been speculating 1.5x to 1.8x for months. 2.

The Saudi PIF investing in the PFL which the market viewed, disproportionately, as increasing the risk of competition to UFC. “And three, probably, Vince, in our deal wanted to be able to put at any point in time his stock–ya know, he’s 78-years-old, he’s been working at this for decades and decades.”

As Ari said “put his stock up”, he seemed to be about to say “for sale” but interrupted himself. This probably refers to Vince McMahon’s rights to sell his stock, detailed in this filing from August.

Ari Emanuel’s remark about Vince McMahon prompted some people to assume that Mr. McMahon was taking blame for TKO’s drop in stock price. That isn’t necessarily the case.

Vince McMahon has been removed from WWE creative, with Triple H assuming more comprehensive control of the stories.

Brandon Thurston noted that it’s doubtful that there is any direct link between this development about WWE creative and the impact of Vince McMahon’s stock holdings on the share price. There are already numerous compelling reasons, both business-related and otherwise, for keeping Vince at a distance from creative decisions.

We will have to see how this situation pans out. Anything can happen with Vince McMahon at this point, because he may elect to sell off his stock and be 100% done with things eventually. Right now, it appears that WWE is in good hands with Endeavor, and Triple H is running the creative direction for the company during a booming period.
